Works most of the time. The other times the trigger seems to hang up at end of stroke and not release the sear. When this happens have to squeeze really hard to get striker to release or have to let trigger all the way out. I would not recommend this product. Stock Striker work flawlessly. It's been reinstalled. Hope it doesn't break. I would not recommend this product

Unsure of the striker that came in the pistol, was the only negative thing I've seen regarding the FN 509 and thought what the heck...it can't hurt. Upon receiving it and comparing it to the old one, I ca n see why Apex is highly recommended. Work great, install wasn't too difficult and the new striker seems to run.

After reading some FN Users talk about issues with the striker, I decided to switch the striker on my FM 509 midsize. My factory striker was perfectly fine, but I did not want to wait until any issue happens. After watching the Apex installation video more than enough times, I decided to tackle the job. Not surprising, there was zero issues with the installation and i am very happy with the striker, Midwest and Apex.

OEM striker is a MIM cast part with a hollow thin design. The APEX striker is machined from bar stock stainless steel.

Purchased as an extra to have if/when something happens to the OEM one. Apex makes solid stuff and I’ve heard good things, so it gets a 4 even though I haven’t installed yet. Looks good and matches what I saw online.... and based on Scott Folks online presence in pew pew groups, I know they take care of their customers. MGW gets a 4 also for quick shipping.

Installed this in a 509m. Watched the apex install video and was pretty easy to do and now works great. No worries about breaking the FN striker even though I believe I had the upgraded striker.

I needed this on my FNS9c that recently needed a firing pin swap after hearing some issues with the original. It's more solid and looks promising.

I purchased this for my fns 9c and 509c tactical. This is a massive upgrade over the stock striker. The most notable improvement is the smoothing out of the trigger pull on the stock trigger. Would definitely recommend this. Wish I would have put this In when i first purchased the firearm.

For the money and the ease of install, why would you want to take a chance with factory offering?

I bought an FN 509 C for my daughter. Shortly there after I became aware of the issues with the striker failing. Someone recommended replacing it with the Apex HD Striker. There's a great video on YouTube that walks you through the installation. Very straightforward and no special mechanical skills needed.

The factory striker seems to be to cause of my gritty FN509 trigger

Replaced the factory trigger with an Apex trigger, grittiness was still there. Replaced the factory striker with the Apex striker and grittiness was MUCH improved but still present. The striker seems to drag in the striker channel in FN 509s. In fairness to Apex, it seems to be an FN issue, not an Apex issue as this striker is clearly more robust than the factory unit. The striker was quite simple to replace and is a better and cheaper place to start than the trigger. The Apex trigger costs 3x as much, is a sumb***h to replace, and while it is better than the factory trigger, you’ll barely feel an improvement without replacing the striker as well. Start with the striker.
