Faxon Firearms 10/22 16" Flame Fluted Barrel, Chameleon PVD, Threaded

Couldn't find this anywhere until I stumbled upon MGW. Delivery was faster than expected. Removing the original barrel, and installing the Faxon barrel, on our Ruger 10/22 was easier than I expected. Took it to the range for zeroing. Although the Faxon barrel is almost 2 inches shorter than the original Ruger barrel, I was surprised at the accuracy and consistency. Shooting from a supported kneeling position at an indoor range, and at 25 yards, I was making holes inside holes using Federal Match .22 ammo. Even other brand ammo was nearly as accurate. Overall accuracy is better than the original Ruger barrel. And after shooting dozens of rounds in a short span of time, the barrel cooled more quickly than expected - I attune this to the fluted design. We have a tactical (pink camo) stock (the rifle is primarily my daughters' rifle) and the colors of this barrel makes things pop - it was a head-turner at the range. Now to search for an appropriate muzzle break - or maybe a suppressor. This is well worth the purchase price. Performance/accuracy gets a 5; appearance gets a 5; function gets a 4.7 (the only handful of misfeeds, over a few hundred rounds, came from using hollowpoint copper-plated ammo. round-nose ammo fed flawlessly). I plan to build another custom 10/22 using a Faxon barrel.
