Description: Faxon Firearms 223 Wylde 16" Pencil Profile AR-15 Match Series Barrel. Machined from 416-R stainless steel with black salt bath nitride finishing inside and out, this 16" barrel is designed to fit the AR-15 rifle platform and is chambered for .223 Wylde. This pencil profile Faxon barrel is button rifled to 5R and features a twist rate of 1:8 along with it's a gunner profile design. The barrel has 1/2" x 28 TPI muzzle threading, a mid length gas system, a nickel Teflon coated M4 extension and an 11-degree target crown. This barrel is perfect for your next AR build or as an upgrade to your current firearm.

Quality is imbued into Faxon barrels from the start. We start with the best materials, either certified 4150 Mil-Spec steel or 416-R Stainless. From there, each barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until finished in Nitride and final inspected. All barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges. 

Manufactured 100% in-house from gun-barrel-quality bar-stock, the Match Series starts with 416-R in 5R rifling. 5R is a hybrid rifling, with lands opposite grooves and reduced sharp angles that reduces jacket deformation increasing velocity and easy cleaning. Faxon chambers their Match Series in .223 Wylde, a hybrid chamber that the 5R rifling takes full advantage of. Better accuracy through less bullet jump, but fully and individually MPI tested for your safety. After rigorous testing, the barrels are Nitride treated inside and out, locking in the bore, improving barrel life, and keeping the elements at bay. 

The extension is coated in Nickel Teflon which maintains incredible dry lubricity, corrosion resistance, and with the coating, tightens up fit between the extension and receiver - again improving upon accuracy.
