The picture above doesn't show it, but the cylinder I bought in January 2025 has the reinforced area around the notches like the original fluted 1861. I'm very pleased because it has a level of authenticity that was unexpected, and the reinforced area around the notches improves the strength of this area that is stressed both by the bolt hammering down and the stress of chamber pressure.
