This is not the right one for a model 17 S&W. But it’s brand new and worth keeping.

This screw, MGW#415580000, appears to be the blue/black version of MGW#415740000 stainless steel screw. The s/s version was out of stock when I tried to order it. This screw measures .464" OAL. It is a shorter version of MGW#05035B000, which measures .502" OAL. The short screw most closely matches the strain screw that was on my S&W 625 JM .45ACP revolver when I bought it used. It's rounded nose fits nicely in the hollow of the Wolff power rib main spring I'm using. The black finish doesn't matter on my s/s gun because it is covered up by the grips anyway. Works very well.
