Description: Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9 / 40 Recoil Spring Assembly. This durable, steel constructed, recoil spring assembly is a factory original part from Smith & Wesson. The assembly is designed for the M&P Shield 9 / 40 models of pistols from Smith & Wesson chambered in 9mm & .40 S&W respectively. The recoil guide rod assembly helps mitigate the felt recoil of the pistol when fired and absorbs much of the backward force along with helping to cycle the firearm. This assembly is perfect for use in an emergency replacement stash and can be great to have in the spare parts chest. This item is proudly made in the USA by Smith & Wesson.

May 3rd 2021 I email and sent a picture to S&W informing that recoil spring from my recently purchased .40 M&P Sheild had come apart, after 35 rounds. Was emailed back that within 10 working days S&W would send a replacement free of charge. I've since emailed S&W back asking for an update on my part, I've repeatedly been emailed back, ON BACK ORDER. So I decided since I wanted to shoot my firearm this year to buy one from MGW. I'm very pleased I had the option to buy the needed recoil spring instead of waiting for 2 more months from S&W. Part was delivered in 6 days, direct fit and once again I can firearm my .40. Thank you MGW for getting me what I needed fast.

I purchased a new Shield, and out of the box, the recoil spring assembly was broke without even firing. I found MGW carried this part, so I bought it. I received my spring assembly in the mail shortly after ordering. It fits and works perfectly. I still have not received my replacement part from SW. I recommend to anyone who owns a Shield to pick up an extra one as I. I have put 100 rounds with no issues.

I bought a new Shield and out the box my recoil spring broke without firing. Found this part online and ordered immediately. It was delivered timely and now my Shield works as intended. Way faster than going through Smith and Wesson. Its probably a good idea to order a backup.
