Fixed S&W's Problem

I needed to replace my barrel lug, as the takedown screw unscrewed the barrel lug and remained attached. The only way to remove the takedown screw was for me to use a vice grip on the barrel lug, which damaged the threads. I now know why the takedown screw wouldn't unscrew from the barrel lug: Smith & Wesson, in its infinite wisdom, applied loctite red to the takedown screw. I corrected this by buying an aftermarket takedown screw and I used loctite red on the lug nut. Takedown is easy now. In Smith & Wesson's defense, they did offer to fix the problem free of charge (including shipping), but that would mean about 8 weeks without this fine pistol!
