Disconnector Fitment

The symptom of a worn disconnector is that begins to fail to engage the sear, with the trigger not releasing the hammer. This can be tested/observed by viewing the mechanism through to sight window/lubrication port on the side of the trigger assembly, this can be avoided by keeping the engagement surfaces well lubricated. THE REPLACEMENT DISCONNECTOR WILL VERY LIKELY REQUIRE FITTING TO THE SEAR TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY. I successfully installed the unit with perfect function by lining up the new and old disconnector, pinning them together in a vise, and using a small diamond file to “key” the ends, keeping the sear contact edges of the replacement disconnector sharp. If you are not confident/experienced about doing this, I’d strongly recommend that you have a good gunsmith do the fitment.

Perfect fit. Beats sending the shotgun just to get it replaced. Why wait 10 weeks when you can do it yourself or have a gunsmith do it

Turns out I didn’t need this, but having a reliable source for parts for fine older guns is just a huge comfort and convenience. Got MGW bookmarked and will look here first in the future. The way the exploded parts drawings send you right to where you need to be is just excellent!
