Browning BAR History

The production of the BAR high power rifle began in 1967 and lasted through 1992. The BAR Mark II series was introduced in 1993 and is still in production.

Historic Information Serial Number Info
1967-75

In 1969 Browning started using two digits for the date of manufacture:

M=BAR High Power Rifle

This was then followed by the serial number beginning with 1000.

Example: 69M1000 = A 1969 BAR High Power rifle with a serial number of 1000.

Purchased two of these, and they were marked "made in Italy", just the same as one other extra mag I have. They were just as good, as the belgium made magazines. If they weren't marked, you wouldn't know the difference. Very fast shipping from MGW.

Works perfectly with my ‘87 Browning BAR .270. My rifle and original magazine were made in Belgium. The extra mags ordered are official Browning parts and are made in Portugal. Function and fit are just like the original. I would buy again. Fast shipping from MGW.

Recently gifted my dad and uncles Belgium made 30.06’s, both from late 60’s. Wanted to make sure i had enough mags. Stopped at a couple places, no one could help. Went online and found that you had them. Couldn’t be happier. The turnaround from point of order to arrival was quicker than anticipated, mags are an exact match. Was a pleasure doing business with your company.

This magazine is a Browning product and mounts into the BAR perfectly. I've run a few mags thru and have had no issues, and don't expect any in the future. This if built quite stout. One note... the mag is black, not the raw metal shown in the photo here. Would buy again.

When I first started looking for this, I thought 'Man, $50 is quite a bit!' Now that I've gotten one, this thing is perfect. It is from / made by Browning, fits my 7mm Rem Mag BAR exactly, and unlike the picture shown here, is actually black. Having run a few mags thru the gun, there hasn't been one hiccup and I don't expect any in the future since this mag is built quite stout. Highly recommend.

i FUNCTION TESTED THIS MAGAZINE. The magazine was loaded with ammunition as designed. It clipped into the floor plate as designed. The floor plate locked into position. It fed rounds into the action as designed. The bolt locked up and the rifle fired as designed, time and again. The parkerized finish seemed a bit gritty as the magazine swung into the action but this did not affect its function.
