Not the right color and does not fit

I recently bought this product without knowing there was two different colorations of wood I assumed there was only one. Also, I bought it for a 12 gauge and it did not fit even if the coloration was right.

the graining on the wood was AA++, a couple of coats of linseed oil and it really is nice looking.
fit like an OEM part should!
