Just what I needed

A small and not readily available part. I am restoring an 870 wing master from the 1970s that my father bought me as a teenager. While there are other ways to secure an older 870 barrel to the magazine tube, because of the nature of this job I wanted it as original an correct. This part was one of the final I required to complete the job and it worked perfectly in applying the pressure needed to the detent.

Spring works perfectly in older Remington 1100 12 gauge.

The caption on the part does not list the 12 gauge, so I assume later models do not require it. However, it worked perfectly for my early 1100 12 gauge. I yanked everything out of the action bar when I pulled the operating handle for cleaning. Found the ball, lost the spring and the retaining plate. I only wish there was a source for the retaining plate as I had to hand-make one to repair my old gun. (BTW, I am not a gun-smith.)
