When I got my FNP45 back in 2008, I couldn't find one that had both the decocker and manual safety. I really wanted the gun because it fit so well, and I decided to get the version with just the decocker since that's the one that was available at the time. Recently when I was doing a thorough cleaning, I took out the fire control assembly and thought to myself, "I should look online to see if I can find the version with both features." So that's what I did. Midwest Gun Works was the only website I found that had exactly what I was looking for. Score. Price wasn't bad, shipping was pretty quick, and now my FNP45 is exactly what I wanted from the start.
Tip: If you've never removed the fire control assembly from an FNP45, I highly recommend looking up a video on YT to see the process. It's not obvious at all how to remove the levers unless you know the way it's assembled. It requires a small pick or other sharp tool, and it can be damaged if you're not careful.
If you order this item, it will come held together with a paper clip or other piece of bendable wire to keep the parts together. The way FN designed the fire control assembly requires the gun's polymer frame to hold the cam pieces on each side in place. So when you take the paper clip out, make sure to hold the cams in place. If you watch a video on YT showing the process, you'll see how it's done.
