Springfield Armory M1A Complete Butt Plate Assembly

Great condition, perfect fit, my M1A now has that traditional look and I now have access to the storage spaces in the stock. The tradeoff is off course that there is slightly more felt recoil on my shoulder since it replaced the rubber butt cap, but it's slight; I solved it by modifying the rubber butt cap and installing part of it on the swinging plate, looks like it belonged there already. I recently put the original wood and synthetic stocks back on my M1As and sold the aftermarket stocks that I had on them. My wood stock already had a metal butt plate (which I had swapped to my synthetic stock in the process) but the synthetic stock had the rubber butt plate, so I went looking for a metal one. I ended up finding out about Midwest Gun Works through my searches and they had exactly what I wanted. I already had the screws (Note: the assembly doesn’t come with the mounting screws) and only needed the butt plate assembly. Ordered as soon as I got the in-stock notification and the processing/shipping was fast. When I got the assembly I initially tried it on my wood stock and it would not fit. Instead of fitting the butt of the wood stock to the new butt plate, I put it on my synthetic stock and it fit great. I then put the original metal butt plate back on my wood stock from which it came. (Note: you may have to do some fitting on a wood stock as mine was too small to fit the butt of the wood stock) All in all it was a great experience and I will absolutely be a return customer!

This is an excellent replacement for the rubber butt pad on the M1A Scout Squad. Midwest Gun Works had the NEW assembly in stock and shipping was lightning fast. If you are looking to replace your rubber butt pad, don’t delay get this!
