Bought along with a stock (also semi-fancy/satin) and am pleased with the overall look of the for end. The finish is as expected: satin-looking, and the checkering is flawless. However, I can not distinguish the semi-fancy feature on this piece from pictures of a plain walnut stock. For the additional money I would expect to see a difference. Do not. Like it, but don't love it (for the extra money spent).
