This steel crafted Cylinder & Slide matte blued wide extended target safety is manufactured for the Browning Hi-Power semi-automatic handguns chambered in 9mm and .40 S&W calibers. This safety functions by allowing the operator to safely engage or disengage via the shooting hand and is perfect as a spare on immediate replacement piece.

C&S Hi Power extended safety

This part was a very easy job to install. The thing has the precise geometry of the original, and functions much better than the factory part.
After some research and some run throughs with the existing part, the new part fit perfectly. It was necessary to disassemble and reassemble the pistol a few times to learn and understand the mechanism, and to make certain of proper and safe operation. The instruction sheet could not be any more clear. I was prepared to profile the cam area where the safety engages the fire control parts, but no adjustment was needed.
Early factory safeties are too small and awkward to operate effectively.
This is a great upgrade to The Browning Hi Power.

Although it said it was oversized and would require fitting mine dropped right in just shows you how worn out my old hi power is. Made a ridiculously small safety into a much more reliable safety. This is what they should have came with in the first place.

Switch out the plunger

Dropped into my T-series without fitting, would not work with the included spring and plunger. The plunger was way too sharp and would not allow the lever to move, but I switched the plunger out of an ambidextrous safety I had on the gun previously and it functioned much better.
