Description: Springfield M1A Precision Adjustable Composite Stock. This adjustable tactical stock is compatible with Springfield Armory M1A and M14 rifles chambered in 7.62mm NATO, .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor, as well as Norinco, Polytech, Armscor and other M14 variants with minor fitting. Constructed from weather resistant, high strength glass reinforced Black or Flat Dark Earth (FDE) polymer and carbon fiber, the stock features a thumbweel adjustable cheek riser and length of pull with a textured rubber recoil pad. The stock also features a gooseneck style grip with ergonomic palm swells and a flared base with a locking storage compartment.
The inlet design of the stock applies gentle pressure to the barreled action for a reduced group size, and the grooved, textured forend has an integrated Picatinny rail with extended rail cover. Two standard UM style sling swivel studs and four integral steel inserts for QD type sling swivels (swivels not included) allow for the attachment of a sling. This stock is tough as nails and will deliver outstanding accuracy shot after shot, year after year.

First off, I want to say that Mid West Gunworks provided excellent service. The search, selection and purchase was very simple to figure out. The price was quite good when compared to other sellers. I will be doing business with Mid West in the future without reservation.
As for the stock… hmmm… it looked like the posted images. It appeared to be well made and the action block was a good idea. As for installing it on my M1A, it wasn’t as easy as it looked. So as to not bugger up the stock, once I figured out it needed adjustments, I made very small changes using a set of files. In addition to the files, I used some precision wood carving tools in the hard to reach areas. It took me two days, approximately eight hours total, to get the stock to fit my SOCOM 16. Not what I was expecting. But the end result looks very nice. If you have a SOCOM 16, it’s going to take some work. Files, wood working chisels, sandpaper and Dremel were all used to make it fit. If you don’t mind the work and have the time, I recommend this stock. If you are in a hurry or have to make a deadline for whatever, you might want to review all your possibilities before deciding to buy this one.
I can’t talk to the multiple models of M1A’s out there but for the SOCOM it was a bit of a pain.

good stock, sturdy. cheek riser and butt adjust out to fit. i did have to file a little material where the trigger group tabs rest on the stock, but they told me i might have to do so. go slow in removing material. it will take a few times trying to cam over the tripper group until you get it correct. i love the vertical hand grip. loosen the picatinny rail protective cover (one screw) and slide it off - there aren't any instructions for this, but its easy to figure out.

Really well designed and built stock. Solid screw adjustment wheels for comb and length of pull. Very comfy to shoot off hand even with the added weight. Makes quick follow up shots easier.

Ok so first off this is the exact stock Springfield used on theirs even has Springfields name on it. Fix is very tight a minor amount of fitting is nessary but nothing very difficult to do a bit of sand paper and time and your done. So fit is up to you finish and style on the stock is as good the normal arch if not a little harder I'm very happy.

This is a very secure fitting stock that fits my Springfield NM very well required a little custom fitting where the trigger pads are with a file rifle is as accurate as it was with glass bedded wood stock. Worked very well for me

Overall experience with Midwest was fantastic. Great turnaround on the order. USPS was not so great. 4 days late and want to charge for tracking info. Pay the extra and use someone else.
The stock was as pictured and met all my expectations from what I researched. Very comfortable to use and it takes your M1A to the next level. Easy to install with no fitment issues. Highly recommend this stock.
