This is well worth it for the price. It's funny that I got an email requesting me to review this block that I bought over a month ago. MGW delivered a quality product quickly. Just an hour ago I finished CNC machining my own acetal block to do what I bought this one to do. Long story short: this block will NOT fit a 686+ Pro Series. There is a Performance Edition, and there is the Pro Series. The frame contour looks spot on, but the barrel contour blocks this block from sliding up to the frame. S&W sold me a brand new $1000+ gun with the barrel clocked a degree off. Sure, I could have sent it in, but if they can't do better than eyeball it at the factory on the production floor, how can I have any confidence that they would set it right the second time? If you're in my boat and have one of the other 686 or L frame models, this should be a solid purchase.
